Aaron Short

Aaron is a Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum award winning music producer and mix engineer based in Los Angeles, California.

His career began in his home country of New Zealand as a member and co-producer of synth pop group The Naked And Famous. He went on to claim multiple NZ Music Awards as a member of the group and earned RIAA multi platinum status for the worldwide chart-topping single “Young Blood”.

Following the band’s success, Aaron branched out to explore his passion for atmospheric electronic music under the alias Space Above. He released a series of singles, remixes and albums from his home studio in LA’s Echo Park which caught the ears of LA’s KCRW radio and many online outlets. Aaron’s passion for ethereal sound design continued to grow and landed him the role of composing music for a number of short films and the feature length Softness Of Bodies.

Outside of his solo recording work, Short works full time as a mix engineer and producer working with artists from around the world. In 2023 Aaron received a Grammy nomination for his work as Immersive Mix Engineer on Madison Beer’s Silence Between Songs LP.
